For some women, abortion is not only physically difficult, it’s also emotionally challenging. Many don’t want to have another one but wonder about their options. You have two other options. Take a closer look at the possibility of making an adoption plan or parenting. Both require you to carry your pregnancy to full term but can have beautiful outcomes.

Why Would I Choose to Make an Adoption Plan?

If you are unexpectedly pregnant and do not want to be a parent at this time, placing your child for adoption could be the perfect solution. Myths and misunderstandings surround adoption. Let’s get the facts straight.

Adoption Facts:

  • As the expectant woman or birth mother, you select the potential adoptive parents.
  • You choose the environment you want for your child. Do you want them to live in the city or on a farm? Should they be the oldest or have immediate siblings? Would you like them to have a two-parent household? You decide.
  • You choose the adoption plan that works best for you. If you want ongoing contact, pick an open or semi-open plan. If you do not want contact, choose a closed adoption.
  • You can change your mind at any time up until you sign the legal papers to release your child for adoption.
  • You pay nothing to place your child.
  • Compensation is available for pregnancy-related expenses, such as all medical and legal costs.
  • Depending on your circumstances, you may receive compensation for rent, utilities, food, maternity clothes, transportation, etc.
  • A reputable adoption agency provides a birth mother with caring adoption counseling before, during, and after the adoption. Some even offer 24/7 contact.
  • Adopted children can be as happy and successful as their unadopted peers.

We do not place your child for adoption at Pee Dee Pregnancy Resource Center. We also do not financially benefit if you choose this option, but we can offer referrals to reputable adoption agencies.
